It's FAVOR TIME

Shelby Stillians (my best friend since high school) is making her dream a reality :) This May Shelby is flying to Tanzania to volunteer and teach African children about community health, safe sex and HIV/AIDS prevention through One Heart Source.

Cheap Thrills Music Video- Take 1

This past Wednesday I transformed into a she devil, possessed by rock'n'roll for the Lose Control, Cheap Thrills music vid. Its been a little while since my theatre & Groundlings days, but it felt great to get a little acting back in my life.

Honey Dijon Dressing

This week I dressed my quinoa and salads with a quick, simple & deeelicous homemade dressing.

Need:

olive oil

dijon mustard

honey (sage flavor)

lemon

sea salt

Make it:

(single serving- BUT make it your own & add more or less of each ingredient to spark your taste) 

1. Mix together a spoonful of dijon mustard and 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil.

2. Cut off the tip of the lemon, squeeze & mix in.

3. Melt a spoonful of honey then mix in (I microwaved it for 35 seconds).

4. Two pinches of sea salt, mix for 20 seconds then enjoy.

I drizzled it on a salad with: kale, beets, spinach, red lettuce, quinoa, avocado & toasted sunflower seeds

"Everything always goes back to the 70's" my mother used to say. It's true! What luxurious glamour and such freedom to wear what you want!!

I'm obsessed with 1930's bathing suit bottoms & the little shorts he does for Chanel every resort season, but lets be real, who can really afford a wardrobe full of Chanel? So we made the look for less. Nothing is more romantic and 70's feeling than cream-colored lace- so we paired a 2 piece ensemble of crocheted lace with a sharp black blazer opaque tights and simple black heels to gives it that elegant yet young, fun and super funky feel.

You might have seen the symbol, heard the chant in a room full of yogis or in the classic Beatles song, Across the Universe. But what is the true meaning of Om?

The Hindus believe that Om is the primordial sound of the universe, a sound from which all other sounds were created.

"As creation began, the divine, all-encompassing consciousness took the form of the first and original vibration manifesting as sound "Om"."

Today Om is practiced as a chanting vibration that symbolizes the manifestation of God in form; the vibration of the supreme.

Om is the reflection of absolute reality, without beginning or end and embracing all things that exist.

The most important thing about Om? Don't be afraid of your own voice, give it a try and belt it out for the universe to hear.

Every morning you have the choice to adjust your attitude. So this past weekend I decided to make each day the best day of my life- starting with a bike ride, Jim Croce and a beach bag.

The more positive energy you put out, the more positive things will come into your life.

During my 40 hour bullet trip to the Angels spring training in AZ, I met the team & staff, got 4 one-on-one interviews, shot a behind the scenes segment of photo day & did a promo video and photo shoot for Angels Weekly. I'd say it was a pretty successful visit. 

Trevor Bell has high hopes to join the Angels on opening day.

During the off season Howie Kendrick is a full time dad, and his 3 year old son just picked up baseball.

If Torii Hunter's shoes get dirty during a game he will clean them between innings. "If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good."

Learning to Grow & Let Go

Change has been a fear of mine since I was little kid. However, this year it's been my mission to face my fears, let go & learn to grow.  Change is inevitable in this life, but how you approach change will build your character and help you grow. 

This morning my mom handed me the Friday March 2nd Daily Word with a smile on her face, and this is what it said...

"If we were never challenged to adjust to new conditions and new people, we would not grow. It is growth that gives life zest and meaning.

When I am confronted with change, I stop and look back over my life. I see every change has brought me new knowledge. Every change has given me confidence and new perspective.

I have no reason to be hesitant or fearful about my current situation. So I approach change with my mind and heart open to receive the new knowledge, the new confidence and the new vision it will bring.

Free of resistance, I welcome change as an opportunity for growth and development, and my life is enriched."

Today I start my out with the old, and in with the new attitude.

  As I embark on this new life adventure, I will be welcoming change with an open heart and mind. 

I learn to grow in every experience
