Hippie Child

Channeling my inner 70's.
High waisted shorts, pants and skirts are my new obsession. They make any crop top look amazing (with out feeling trashy showing a little belly). I usually tuck in the front to show off the high rise, but because my shirt was shear, I went with the full tuck.

3 Segments, 3 Outfits

Hosting Inside AlliSports (solo). We shot 3 separate segments, so that meant 3 different outfits.

top: Free People // jeans: Free People // heals: Steve Madden

top: Nasty Gal // jeans: J Brand // shoes: Forever 21

top: Zara // jeans: J Brand // shoes: Steve Madden

Summer is right around the corner and bright colors are in full force. Break out of your fashion comfort zone and try a new color and style. Yellow was my break out color worn with my first pair of high wasted pants.

I've found that when I wear color I smile more :)

All Dolled Up: Day to Night

This week for All Dolled Up Vanessa and I decided to shake things up a bit and play with day-to-night looks.

From the brilliant mind of Vanessa Perilman:
I've always admired Alex's free spirit, calm sense of being, and her natural beauty (it makes her so darn fun to dress up). She is really like a little doll....hence why we named this blog feature: "All Dolled Up”

Day outfit: Inspired by the 70's
"Everything always goes back to the 70's" my mother used to say. It's true! What luxurious glamour and such freedom to wear what you want!!

Vest: Forever21 (Heritage 81) // Shorts: Free People // T-shirt: Splendid // Purse: vintage // Necklace: Amma beads (hug Amma) // Flats: vintage oxfords

Night outfit: inspired by Ol' Karl Lagerfeld
I'm obsessed with 1930's bathing suit bottoms & the little shorts he does for Chanel every resort season, but lets be real, who can really afford a wardrobe full of Chanel? So we made the look for less. Nothing is more romantic and 70's feeling than cream-colored lace- so we paired a 2 piece ensemble of crocheted lace with a sharp black blazer opaque tights and simple black heels to gives it that elegant yet young, fun and super funky feel.

Blazer: Urban Outfitters // Crochet vest: Heritage 81 (Forever21) // Crochet lace shorts: Macy & Taylor // Tights: Gap // Shoes: Michael Kors // Purse: Chanel

Vanessa’s outfit takes you back to a cottage in the Hamptons- wearing an old vintage Ralph Lauren striped dress, and adding a Levi’s jacket for that all American style.

Dress: Heritage 81 (Forever21) // Belt: vintage // Purse: vintage // Flats: vintage easy spirit oxfords.
